Is a Midgeter computer case better then a Large case for better air flow cooling? I was thinking if a computer case is bigger, such as a full tower, then wouldnt air be more likely to sit or slow down then to flow through easily? It would take much bigger fans to acheive the same effect a Midget case right? So is a Midget case better if it has the same size and amount of fans. For instance if both had 80mm or 120mm fans then wouldnt the Midgeter one be better? Well I use my computers for gaming, but there are still ways of getting around that. Such as removing the harddrive bays, to make room for video card. And using a 5.25-3.25 bay converter of some sort. which could also even make better cooling. The difference between a business computer and gaming is ONE thing(usually) A video card. The business computer can rely on a chipset while gaming will suffer without a video card.

Computer question - Micro ATX Cases + SLI? I am building a new computer. Here is my question... Is it possible to run dual video cards with a Micro ATX case? I am thinking that the only issue that would come up would be size related. Is there a large selection (if any) of Micro ATX motherboards that support dual video cards? If so would this fit inside of such a Midget case? Also...to make things even more complicated, I really would like this system to be liquid cooled however I could imagine that this would make the size issue even worse. I know I could go for a Mid / Full ATX case and have no problem with this, however I think it would be awesome to have everything in such a tiny package. So basically I want a Micro ATX, Dual video cards, AND Liquid cooling. If anyone can direct me to a motherboard/case or both that would be compatible with this it would be much appreciated. Another issue I can see arising is the power supply. Since Micro ATX power supplies are Midgeter, they have a lower wattage. I have seen external power supplies and may have to resort to this in order to get the required amount of power. A Midget fan caused my Hard Drive to get bad. How can I fix this "frozen" Hard Drive? Hi.I had 2 working HDDs in my open case computer. One hot night, everythig into the case was so hot. So, before going to bed I put a computer fan directly on top of the 2nd HDD (a slavery HDD: Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 80GB ATA133). I thought it is a great idea to keep this hard cool as most of my data was there! You may get surprised if I say that in the morning when I looked at "My Computer", the drives belong to this HDD were no longer there! The HDD got frozen during the night just because of a Midget COMPUTER FAN! I lost very important data. I had a backup hard (a 2.5" portable HDD) which got bad before this one & before being able to make new backup I lost data. Somebody told me as cooling has caused the problem, maybe heating can solve it. I put Maxtor in Oven to warm it up (around 50-70 C). I tried this a few times but it didn't make the HDD to work. When System starts it even doesn't recognize this HDD. I mean literlay this hard doesn't turned on. Any comment or suggestion?

How can I use computer fans to ventilate my HT equipment? I am building a Midgetish end table/audio rack for my home theater equipment. Because I want it to look more like an end table I'm enclosing 3 of the sides and only leaving the front open. Some of my equipment generates quite a bit of heat so i'm planning to use some computer case fans to add some ventilation to the back becasue they are quiet, Midget, and reletivly cheap. What i would really like is to have them wired in some way that they only turn on when the equipment is being used; is there any way to accomplish this? Computer does random restarts(possible processor is to Midget?)? Ok my computer is custom built, i recently put a new motherboard into it, and used a Vista Ultimate upgrade disk to go from XP home to Vista ultimate. problem is that when i run a normal boot on the computer, it gets to the loggin screen then when i click the user account. it auto restarts. im thinking that the processor is maybe to Midget but heres my stats and what im running Intel Penium 3.20 Ghz 6.0 GB ram 32-bit op system windows vista ultimate service pack 1 inside hardware wise i have 2 ati express video cards for quad monitors, a GIGABYTE motherboard with 8 usb, 2 onboard nic, firewire, usb b, and the ps2 ports. as well as 2 cd burners. all this runs off of a 820 watt, Blackwidow, powersupply. any suggestions on why its rebooting, iv ran Spybot, and Avast, neither of them have came up with anything, iv purged my temp files, run msconfig and taken it down to barebones, as well has clean out the inside of the computer case.

Computer suddenly turned into a static shock machine? At first I was trying to fix a wireless mouse issue where the mouse was not detected. Then I realized that every time I touched the computer case it would give me a static shock. This didn't happen before. I tried plugging the USB connector to different USB ports and no response either. After plugging in the USB connector for the mouse in a different port the computer would shut down and reboot. On one occasion I plugged in the usb connector I did get the Blue screen of death and I only managed to see something referring to the usb causing the problem. The computer will reboot until I try plugging in the usb connector for the wireless mouse which causes it to shutdown and reboot. I am thinking it is a driver issue where I need to reinstall the driver but I am not sure about the computer case being static charged. I tried plugging the power cord for the computer to a different electrical outlet thinking might have poor grounding but did not get results either.(Plugged it in a different outlet in a surge protector) Last thing I did was that I was going to plug in the usb connector for the wireless mouse and it had barely made any contact with the usb port and the computer shut down so I am thinking it is an electrical issue. I am thinking that it could be that a cable from the powers supply is making contact with the case because I have several cables that I hid in the compartment where a floppy drive would be placed.But that is only a guess. I can only use that computer without a mouse now. Any Suggestions or ideas on what may be causing this? The computer desktop case is a Midget plastic table if that makes a difference. This mouse started causing problems today. It is new. The computer case is on a plastic table. I forgot to add the word "on" Seems I got everything back to normal. I uninstalled all the usb drivers from the device manager and I plugged in the surge protector to a different electrical outlet and the static problem ended and once I rebooted and vista automatically reinstalled the driver to the mouse and the mouse is also back to normal. So for some reason the electrical outlet stopped being properly grounded. My thumb feels kinda numb after taking several shocks lol. Everything is back to normal. Thanks for trying to help.

Good Computer case with these dimensions? Hi i need a case to fit into my desks Midget computer slot. the dimensions of this slot are 19.25" tall( 480mm) 10.5" wide(265mm) and 19" (470mm) deep. No what i am looking for in a case is at least 1 frontal USB 2.0, an eSATA port some where (preferably in the front), enough room for an ATX motherboard and 3 more more fan ports (120mm or larger would be best). I know the wish list is a long one, but I'm sure someone will be able to find one. Oh and one more thing, must be cheaper than $200 (preferably under $150) Oh and if i does comes with a power supply, I will expand the budget to $250. Hamster living inside my computer? My parents won't let me have a hamster, but I bought one and then I hid him in my computer case. There's a Midget hole at the top of the case where I drop food pellets in and drizzle a little water in. is it bad manners to fix a computer and charge a Midget fee? i'm happy fixing comps for free for family and friends, but i'm sick to death of being expected to fix comps for friends of family or neighbours for free and they dont even have the decency to buy me or the missus a drink. honestly they think its easy to fix a comp, i've taught myself over 20 years how to do it. anyway on short notice i got a call from my sister could i fix one of her mates computers. thing was a piece of crap. i rebuilt it and had to vacum the whole case out. its now good as new. i told my sister to tell her mate 30 quid, i'll take 20 she can keep 10. my sis says she never told her mate there might be a fee. thats ok if your mate doesnt want to pay she can have her comp back as good as new but i'll never fix her comp again (her mates) or any of her other mates comps. they can bring them to PC world pay 40 quid before the comp is opened and wait 5 weeks to get it back (i told sis). am i being greedy or expecting too much?. thanks. edit: the going rates 40 quid to just open the case. thanks for all the answers, id love to give you all a thumbs up but i'm only level 1.

I am making a huge computer desk. Any help? Every desk I've seen is far too Midget for my needs. It has to have enough space for a 17'' CRT monitor, a subwoofer, scanner, printer, an UPS, and of course all the other elements of my computer (Miditower case, keyboard, mouse, speakers...). Help! Computer guys, Midget Home Network issue, driving me NUTS!!! Keeps closing connection.? I recently added a second computer to my home office, and I set them up to share files over a local, wireless network connection. I pretty much improvised my way through it, but it ended up working.....except that now, my connection to the internet keeps closing on both machines, and VERY often. I hit the Wireless Connection "Repair" button, and it goes through its thing, then I'm fine for another little while, maybe 10-15 minutes, but this is ridiculous! I just bought a computer case that has a dummy 1394 port. How can I make it active? I have contacted the manufacturer of the case, and they are not willing to provide me with the necessary part. It is a Midget board screwed into the front bezel. It just does not have a firewire port, despite having two usb, a mic, and headphone jack. My computer cooling question? My computer is slightly Midget for the hardware I have in it, and it tends to build up heat as there is no airflow. A new computer case can be an option, but I want to try to avoid purchasing a new case. is a steel or aluminum computer case better? My computer project is slowly coming together and now I have to decide upon a case. Aluminum sounds appealing because it's lightweight, but I wonder if it's better for the parts inside heatwise than steel. I'm wondering what the pros and cons are of steel v aluminim cases. Also, are there any Midgeter than mid tower ATX cases that use an ATX mobo? I'd like to be space efficient if possible, but not at the cost of expansion/upgradeability and temperature. Another idea: is there an ATX mid-tower size case that is designed to lay flat (sideways) and that could have a flat-panel monitor on top of it?

There is a crack in the case of my computer, What can I use to mend it? On my laptop, when I was taking it apart to mod it, I noticed a crack in it. It is a Midget crack- and it only affects the computer case- but I wanted to know if there was something I can do to prevent it from getting bigger, breaking,etc. It is at the hinge so it could cause problems if it got bigger. Midget form factor / low profile / half-height graphics card? I'm in the market for a graphics card. After several days of research I chose the XFX GeForce 8500 GT. When it arrived, I found that it wouldn't fit into my computer case. I had no idea there was a Midgeter size card. I've seen them listed as any of the three types I named in my question topic. So now I'm looking for something similar to the 8500 GT. I want at least 256MB, DVI output, and PCI Express x16. I'm having trouble finding these Midgeter cards because at most stores they have no special identifying description that lets me know they are the Midget ones. So far I'm looking at the ATI Radeon X1300 Pro, but I would like a few suggestions on which cards are good or possibly a website that lists the Midgeter cards in their own category. Is there a way to prevent computer from going into hibernation when a certain program is running? In other words, I want my computer to go into hibernation after say, 2 hours, unless program ABC is running, in which case I do not want it to ever go into hibernation. Maybe there's a Midget program or shell that allows you to do this? I'm running Windows XP. Let me clarify. I want it do it automatically without me having to change the settings manually. You still did not answer my question. I DON'T want my computer to go into hibernation mode when certain programs are running. As an example, I like to queue up several downloads for bit torrent and leave it running overnight to download. I DO NOT want hibernation mode to kick in when I am running specific programs. Microsoft does not provide software/options to do this, so I obviously need some sort of shell that that will prevent hibernation when programs like AZUREUS are running. Hibernation (obviously) prevents programs like Azureus from performing their functions because the computer is basically turned off. No more stupid (obvious) answers please!

How do you enforce a default judgment in Illinois? Friend of mine (not good with computers) filed a case in Midget claims court in Illinois in 2004. He got a default judgment in September of 2004 and then did a Citation to Discover Assets. It returned one bank account with a Midget amount in it. He missed the next court date and hasn't done anything with it since. What are his options? Can he still enforce the judgment or is it stale? How do I take a business located out of state to Midget claims court? I bought a computer from a business selling on eBay that was dead on arrival. After contacting them, their tech support tried to help me with fixing the problem myself, but the attempts were for naught. I requested a refund which was allowed per their warranty. They accepted my request and asked me to ship the computer back first. I did so, and now it is thirty-six days later. After a bunch of e-mail runarounds ("I'm transferring the money into my PayPal account. It will take a few days."), they have decided not to pay me. They say that I broke the warranty by opening the case and trying to fix the problem and that it isn't their worry. Well, the warranty absolutely says nothing about that, and their tech support guy TOLD me to do it. Now I want to sue them in Midget Claims Court to get my money back. They are located in Maryland, and I live in Louisiana. Is there a way to sue them here without traveling? I can't afford a trip like that. The amount of money owed is $1,138. Thanks

Is it always best to upload, download, or copy lots of files @ Midget increments at a time? I find that when I try to upload, download, or copy lots of files @ once, they take very long, & then the computer freezes. But when I do like 5 or 10 at a time, they run smoothly. Should I buy an Apple laptop or build my own computer for half the price? K so heres my situation. I have $2000 at my disposal to buy a computer . I am going to grade 11 next year and there is only one active computer in the house. I share it with my brother and my father who use it constantly. I was looking into buying an Apple laptop, preferably a Macbook for $1907.85 Canadian. It's Midget, its fast, it would suit my needs. Then I started looking into building custom desktop computers which are really cheap to do these days. I could built an Intel core 2 duo at 2.4 ghz with 2 gigs of DDR2 ram at 667mhz with an 8800gts graphics card at 320mb for $1000. The case/ dvd burners etc I already have so basically thats all I need to upgrade to game on. I have an xbox 360 but I still prefer computer gaming. Should I invest my money in my old computer, which means in the end there will still be only one computer in the house, but it would be a great one, then spending double the money on a lesser speced laptop with a great OS.
