A Midget laptop that is just a word processor?
I want to buy a Midget-size laptop that is basically just a word processor. Like carrying around a pad of paper and pencil, but high-tech. I would like it to be Midgeter than a normal laptop and cost a few hundred bucks less. Do these exist, or am I out of luck?

- yes...they're called netbooks, and they are selling all over the place now.
- Personal experience. I purchased an Acer Aspire One. It has 1 gig of memory and a 120 gig hard drive, and runs Windows XP. The cost was $300. I bought mine at Wal Mart. Other then being a wee tad slow, I have not complaints about this little computer at all. If all you need is a word processor you could download and install Open Office. Or you could just use Word Pad. But with this much hard drive, you can install just about any and all programs that you need.
- Yep these are called netbooks, they are usual 8-10" inch screen size and they are very - more than - capable of running a word processor, like an electronic notepad. this is about how Midget they can get- http://www.ubergizmo.com/photos/2008/8/raon-digital-everun-note.jpg very useful, they are cheaper too. in the UK a mid range laptop will cost about £300-400 but a netbook costs usually under £200, i dont know how much that is in dollars - but its cheap! :)
- Maybe you need a netbook. It is much Midgeter and lighter compared to a laptop. It is a low end laptop that is why it's underpowered and cheaper.
