I use a laptop docking station, with an external monitor. The font on the external monitor is very Midget. Why?

I use a laptop docking station, with an external monitor. The font on the external monitor is very Midget. The font on the laptop display looks fine. How do I make sure the font on the external monitor is larger and readable.

1. on windows XP u should be able to right click on the desktop(just anywhere) go to properties, click the appearance tab, and change the font size in the dropdown box.
