Can you recommend a Midget/lightweight laptop?
I am moving out of the country and would like to bring a laptop. The battery on my current model is shot, and the laptop itself is heavy. I want something Midget and ultra-light. My needs are simple: I play games from time to time and need to be able to develop projects, using Microsoft products. Since, I will be out of the country (S.Korea), I want something reliable. I would also like something reasonably priced (under $1000 if possible). If you need more info, let me know.

- I like the Dell Latitude D-420. It weighs 3 Lbs and has a 12" screen.
- Apple MacBook (not under $1000, the lower end model is $1099, but it's well worth it.)
- avaratec
- hp .laptop from hp.com is lightweight
- compaq definetly they have been know for making very lightweight mobile machine and still are (if you look at the right ones) and since they are part of HP i would suggest them too (infact i would suggest all Midget machine like a dell latitude)
- Acer 290 LCI its the best, its light weight , its has much longer battery and it looks cool, plus its price will be under $1000,
- Go to this link the 3 comps they are really good and under $1000 sony has some really reliable products http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/+INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/SY_BrowseCatalog-Start?CategoryName=hid_computers_advisor&CatName=computers
- Averatec. Great little computer. All the bells and whistles in 3-4 lbs. And it's white, if the color matters to you. It also has a "fan calibration" which makes the computer soooo quiet that you can not even hear it after startup. I am a therapist and it is important that I not be distracted by the fan. You can buy this at buy.com for about 750.00 so it is about half the price of any other Midget computer. Hope this helps. I would not buy anything else. I bought one for my daughter in college, too.
